Wine Making Notes

The grapes were picked in late March when fruit was ripe and flavours were fully developed. In the winery the fruit was destemmed and wild fermented in open-top vessels with gentle plunging. The wine was matured in old French oak barrels before being bottled in late 2021 A stelvin closure is used to seal the wine.

Tasting Notes

Henrietta was aged in old French oak and large format concrete resulting in a wine that shows beautiful purity of fruit. The nose is fresh and vibrant, with lifted notes of cherry and raspberry, supported by hints of violet, pepper and a touch of spice.

A firm acid line provides freshness on the palate and allows red fruit, spice and Henrietta’s typical richness to be carried by the wines elegant frame. This is a delicious Shiraz ready to drink now.
